Long-undervalued tobacco and FMCG giant ITC Ltd (NS:) was a surprise gainer on the markets today, closing up 6.62%. It wasn’t the top gainer though. That spot was taken by IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) which closed up 7.31%. Apart from these two State Bank Of India (NS:) gained 4.77% and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:) gained 1.92%.
also put in a strong show closing up 2.22%. ICICI Direct said that it estimates markets at 18,600 by the end of 2021.
Vodafone Idea Ltd (NS:) gained over 27% today after the telecom sector got a 4-year moratorium from the government to pay its AGR (annual gross revenue) dues.
Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:) lost 1.76% while Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:), Shree Cements Ltd. (NS:) and Tata Steel Ltd (NS:) lost over 1.25% each.
Major Asian markets closed in the red today with closing down 0.62%, down 0.74% and the down 1.34%.
